Klaus Heldman is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Hong Kong office. He is a member of the Consumer Markets Practice, as well as the functional practices for Financial Officers and Supply Chain. Klaus conducts regional and global senior-level assignments in a variety of consumer-facing businesses including retail, digital, products, operations, supply chain & sourcing, services, verticals/manufacturing, and technology.
Klaus also partners with family-controlled groups and private equity firms to assist them with their portfolio companies. Using his expertise and deep insights into the Asian market, Klaus supports clients in leadership succession, leadership assessment, and acceleration and transformation strategies.
Throughout his advisory and search career, he has conducted numerous search assignments for CEOs, CFOs, COOs, managing directors, as well as Heads of corporate functions for international, European and Asian clients.
Before joining the search industry, Klaus oversaw supply chain and manufacturing solutions for European-headquartered corporations, holding various roles, including group CFO, managing director and executive board member. He has also held leadership positions in corporate finance and corporate affairs. Klaus started his career in audit and business advisory at Arthur Andersen.
Klaus currently holds non-executive director roles in asset management/private equity firms in Europe and Asia. He has been based in Hong Kong and Singapore since the 1990s.
Klaus earned an honors degree in economics from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. He also has a degree in business administration (cum laude) from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, with a focus on corporate finance, strategy and operations. In addition, Klaus completed the International Executive Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and the postgraduate Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma.
