Overview
Tuomo Salonen is a partner emeritus in Heidrick & Struggles' Helsinki office and works with clients in both Finland and Sweden. He is a member of the CEO & Board of Directors Practice and the Industrial, Technology, and Leadership Consulting practices, focusing on searches at the board and CEO levels across various industries. Previously, he was the partner in charge of the Helsinki office.
Experience
Since joining Heidrick & Struggles in 2003, Tuomo has consulted with multiple industries, organizations, and people, using his experience and knowledge to provide top-class executive search and leadership advisory services to many distinguished international companies at the board, CEO, and executive team levels.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, he worked for the world’s leading IT distributor, Tech Data Corporation, as regional managing director for Finland and the Baltic countries. Before that, he worked as vice president of finance and control and later as managing director responsible for professional PC and server manufacturing of Fujitsu Siemens Computer Oy. As a member of the European management team, he was one of the key players in the successful European-wide merger of the PC and server operations of Fujitsu and Siemens. His career started with Compaq Computer, where he was the founding member of the Finnish subsidiary as finance director and later project team leader for a European-wide financing project in Compaq EMEA HQ in Munich, Germany.
Prior to his IT career, Tuomo worked in the airline industry and international reinsurance business. He speaks fluent Finnish and English and conversational Swedish.
