Chris Uhrinek is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Philadelphia office and a member of the Leadership Consulting Practice. Previously, he was a principal at Decision Strategies International, a global strategy and leadership development advisory firm acquired by Heidrick & Struggles in 2016, and was responsible for leading a range of strategy engagements.
Chris helps executives navigate business challenges in the midst of complex market disruptions and changing business models. He is an expert in leading scenario-based strategic planning initiatives to create long-term visions and identify the capabilities needed for organizations to succeed in uncertain environments.
Before joining DSI, Chris worked in PwC’s healthcare industries advisory practice where he focused on customer interaction strategy and operations. In that role, he helped pharmaceutical and life sciences clients rethink the way they engage with customers.
Prior to his management consulting career, Chris gained academic and practical experience in mechanical and biomedical engineering, where he worked in a variety of manufacturing, R&D, and academic research settings.
Chris serves as the president and chairman of the board of Minds Matter of Philadelphia, Inc., a non-profit organization helping high achieving students from low-income families achieve academic excellence and gain admissions to leading colleges. He also serves as a director on the board of Minds Matter, Inc., the umbrella organization for the national network of chapters in 13 cities. Prior to founding the Philadelphia chapter of Minds Matter in 2011, Chris served as a mentor in the New York program. He is also a member of the Carnegie Mellon University Admissions Council.
Chris holds bachelor of science degrees in mechanical and biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
