Denise Grant is a highly regarded counsel to global leaders in the C-suite and the boardroom on complex matters across the range of executive leadership, organizational strategy and Board effectiveness. She has over 25 years of experience developing strategies and implementing solutions in the corporate, public and nonprofit sectors.

Denise most recently served as managing partner of the Washington, DC office of another global executive leadership firm. During her ten years at the firm, she worked with some of the world’s most high profile companies and nonprofits to assess their organizations and implement leadership solutions at the top executive and board levels.  She conducted Chief Executive Officer succession planning and searches for significant non-profits and NGOs, led organizational assessments and worked with boards regarding their effectiveness, governance and board recruitment. She held various global leadership positions at the firm.

Prior to entering leadership and organizational consulting, Denise had a successful career spanning the public policy, legal and business arenas, with leadership roles in a corporation, a trade association and on Capitol Hill. Ms. Grant was a corporate officer at Fannie Mae, a Fortune 100 company, where she served in a variety of leadership roles. Earlier in her career, Ms. Grant practiced law for nearly a decade, including as an attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and Assistant General Counsel of a large trade association. In addition, Ms. Grant served as a top aide to a member of the United States Senate leadership.

Denise has been a frequent speaker and presenter at panels, conferences and in the media throughout her career. Ms. Grant is active with various nonprofit organizations, including serving on the Boards of Directors of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and the Bryce Harlow Foundation, and as a Trustee at Transylvania University. She is also a member of the Economic Club of Washington.

 
Education:

Denise received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Transylvania University with majors in Business and Psychology and a minor in Economics, and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she was a member and editor of the Law Review.
