Oliver Schiltz is a partner in the Heidrick & Struggles' Zurich office. He is a core member of the Global Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice focusing on senior level searches across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices technology. Oliver works with a diverse client base including Fortune 500, small- and medium-sized public and private companies, as well as private equity- and venture-backed companies. He is also a member of the global Health Care & Life Sciences Practice and the global Legal, Risk, Compliance & Government Affairs Practice and in this function works on senior general counsel and compliance roles across all industries. Oliver is also the Practice Leader Startups in Switzerland and brings many years of experience in the startups world, mainly working with high-tech, biotech and med-tech companies.
Oliver has a strong track record of placing senior management in the pharmaceuticals and biotech sector globally. This includes having advised multiple US biotech organizations on international expansion by helping build their European leadership teams at HQ and affiliates level in advance of regulatory approval and product commercialisation.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Oliver was the director of the Swiss pharmaceutical practice of a UK-based niche executive search firm focusing on the life sciences sector. Previously, he was the head of life sciences of a large global recruitment company where he was responsible for building up the life sciences practice for Switzerland.
Prior to entering the search profession, Oliver spent several years in the pharmaceutical and legal industries for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in London, and as a lawyer for the US law firms Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
Oliver holds a LLB (Hons) degree in law from the University of London and an LLM from the Columbia University in New York. He is currently enrolled in the prestigious INSEAD Executive Master in Consulting and Coaching for Change (EMCCC) programme which will completed by 2020.
Oliver is fluent in German and English and has a working knowledge of French.
