Overview

Clayton Sears is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Houston office and leads the global energy practice. He is also a member of the global Industrial, CEO & Board of Directors, and Financial Officers practices.

Experience

Clayton focuses primarily on C-Level, senior investment professional, and board search and consulting assignments and serves investors and private and public companies focused on energy infrastructure.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Clayton served for six years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer. He deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and served on the general’s staff of the Marine Corps’ Special Operations Command, where he held a leading role in shaping the organization’s strategy in the Middle East.

Philanthropy and Service

Clayton serves in several capacities at CityRise – a network of churches, ministries, non-profits, and global partners – including serving as a deacon at Crosspoint Church-Bellaire and as a director of a bible study for parents with children. He also serves on the board of The Tavern Ministry, a non-denominational ministry that disciples to future leaders of the Navy and Marine Corps at the Naval Academy.
