J. Eric Joseph is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Washington, D.C. office and leads the North America Social Impact Practice, which supports a wide range of mission-driving organizations, education entities of all kinds, associations, cultural institutions, NGOs, and foundations. He is a member of the global CEO & Board and Technology & Services practices, and is a sector leader of the Services Practice, which includes IT services & outsourcing, business services, and consulting & advisory.
Eric focuses primarily on CEO transitions and board of directors composition for clients in technology services, business services, professional services and the U.S. Federal services. Eric also leads the North American Education, Nonprofit & Social Enterprise Practice, which supports a wide range of mission-driven organizations, education entities, associations, cultural institutions, NGOs, and foundations.
Eric has led a variety of engagements including numerous chief executive officer, board of director and senior executive search assignments for some of the firm’s most strategic global clients. In addition to his technology industry experience and his work in the nonprofit sectors, Eric also has extensive experience helping top private equity firms build management teams for emerging private and public companies.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Eric spent ten years in management consulting and specialized in change management and technology implementation projects in both commercial and public sectors.
Eric is also an experienced board member. He is currently on the boards of technology company Recruitifi, the metropolitan Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the advisory board of JTCC (College Park, MD), one of the premier regional training centers of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Eric also served on the board of trustees at Green Hedges School (Vienna, VA).
Eric earned a bachelor of arts degree from Washington & Lee University, in Lexington, Virginia.
