Sarah Payne is Heidrick & Struggles’ chief human resources officer located in the Stamford office. She is responsible for global compensation strategy and design, including consultants, corporate and executive employees as well as for being a business partner to Heidrick & Struggles’ Americas region which includes providing strategic support across the full employee lifecycle.
Previously, Sarah led global executive compensation at Bunge, a leading agribusiness company with over $60 billion in revenues and 35,000 employees globally.
Sarah’s work focused on executive compensation design and disclosure, including chief executive officer and board of director compensation. She partnered on the annual proxy disclosure process and shareholder outreach campaigns in support of Bunge’s management Say on Pay vote. She was also responsible for Bunge’s global equity incentive plan and Bunge’s global commodities trading plan.
Prior to joining Bunge, Sarah was global director of compensation and benefits at PanAmSat, a satellite communications company that later merged with Intelsat. At PanAmSat, she was responsible for broad-based and executive compensation including base salary, annual incentive and equity incentive plan design and administration. She was also responsible for global benefit policy plan design and administration. Prior to leading compensation and benefits at PanAmSat, Sarah held roles as head of global recruiting and as a HR business partner for the company.
Sarah earned a BA in philosophy and fine arts, cum laude, from St. Lawrence University.
