Overview
David Richardson is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the Financial Services Practice. He leads the global Market Infrastructure & Data Services sector and co-leads the Crypto & Data Assets sector in the Americas. David works with clients at the intersection of technology and financial markets, partnering with emerging companies seeking to disrupt the industry and create an open financial system. In addition, he works with a diverse range of established technology companies servicing the financial markets and global banks, asset managers, and hedge funds who are seeking to onboard transformational technology talent.
Experience
Within the fintech industry, David has worked on c-suite and board engagements for software and data providers servicing the sell-side and buy-side. Additionally, he has worked on a variety of assignments for market infrastructure and crypto and distributed ledger technology (DLT) firms.
Recent functional assignments have included CIO, CTO, and CISO positions for banks, hedge funds and asset managers.
Before transitioning to New York, David spent several years working for the firm’s Financial Services Practice in London. During this time, he worked with privately held and public companies to hire technology and business leaders. He gained considerable experience in industries, including capital markets, alternative investments, asset management, and market utilities.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, David worked for a start-up executive recruitment firm specializing in technology leadership roles within the financial services industry.
