Leadership perspectives: Hiring with authenticity and purpose

Patreon’s CEO and CPO share their insights on hiring for purpose: what to look for in all candidates as well as for a CPO in particular, and how leaders can best position themselves to attract diverse talent.

In this next video in our Leadership Perspectives series, Heidrick & Struggles’ Lyndon Taylor, the leader of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Practice, speaks to Jack Conte, the CEO and co-founder of Patreon, and Tiffany Stevenson, Patreon’s senior vice president and chief people officer. Patreon is an American membership platform that provides business tools for content creators to run a subscription service and was founded in 2013 with diversity and inclusion as core parts of the company’s purpose. Conte shares the three things he looks for when hiring for purpose: people who are passionate about serving people, who have an ambition for impact that is broader than the self, and who have genuine curiosity and enthusiasm about the mission of the company. Stevenson shares her thoughts on hiring for purpose in her role, as well as how hiring for purpose influences a company’s growth and how leaders can best position themselves to be attractive to diverse talent.
