Overview
Becky Friend is a client director in Heidrick & Struggles’ London office and a member of Heidrick Consulting, focusing on leadership acceleration, including executive assessment, leadership development, and coaching. She partners with executives to leverage their strengths and identify development opportunities.
Experience
Becky has more than 14 years of experience, the past nine with Heidrick & Struggles, leading client projects in the UK, Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia across a wide range of industries, including financial services and insurance, entertainment, and technology, aerospace and defense, engineering and construction, healthcare, and the police force.
As an accredited coach, she focuses on delivering leadership coaching engagements to help leaders gain insights into their personal strengths and development areas to grow in their roles. She has designed multiple leadership development programs, including a multi-year coaching engagement with a financial services client supporting more than 30 executives through a nine-month coaching program and a year-long program for a financial services client with 50+ leaders.
Becky has led several large-scale projects assessing various leaders for development, selection, and succession and providing feedback to senior leadership teams on the insights and recommendations to accelerate performance, including a large oil and gas client in the Middle East.
Becky has written several articles, including “Characteristics of a good advice giver and the impact of financial incentives and competition on advice quality and advisors’ confidence,” “Beliefs in being unlucky and deficits in executive functioning,” and “Payment incentives and advice giving motivation.”
Education
University of Leicester, Ph.D. in Psychology
