Borjana Fermaud is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice.

Experience

Borjana’s experience spans partnering with C-suite executives and board directors to lead executive recruitment and talent development initiatives at Heidrick & Struggles.

Prior to her current role, Borjana spent six years with a biopharma-focused search firm, where she served as a partner advising innovative therapeutics companies on recruitment strategies for key executive leadership and board roles.

Prior to that, she dedicated four years to the GLG Institute, where she curated an ecosystem of healthcare industry leaders and experts, building a world-class platform for learning and development.

Earlier in her career, Borjana held a diverse range of roles at Bayer across multiple regions, including the U.S., Russia, Germany, and Switzerland. During this time, she led strategic initiatives, managed several mergers and acquisitions, and established a comprehensive financial controlling function from the ground up.

While at Bayer, Borjana contributed to corporate social responsibility projects, including the Fight against Tuberculosis in Moldova. She collaborated with local NGOs and national Tuberculosis authorities to introduce a new treatment concept and ensure project sustainability.

Borjana is a native German speaker and is fluent in English, French, and Russian.
