Overview
Grace Gu is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles Shanghai office. She is a member of the firm’s global Consumer Markets Practice and leads Heidrick Consulting in China. She advises boards, founders and senior executives of both multinationals and China companies on winning the China market through enhancing leadership and organization capabilities.
Experience
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Grace spent 12 years at another global leading leadership advisory and senior executive search firm where she was a managing director of the consumer sector and spearheaded the digital transformation practice in China.
Before executive search, Grace founded her own internet company which served as a bridge between fashion-forward foreign brands and the Chinese consumers. Before that, she worked for STAR, part of News Corporation, as general manager for Channel [V], where she was responsible for operations of the China business.
Previously, Grace was the senior marketing manager for the China division of Elle, Hachette Filipacchi Media. She began her career at Zhejiang Radio & TV Group, a large Chinese state-owned media corporation, where she worked as editor, producer, and director of the international communications department.
A Chinese native, Grace speaks fluent English and some French.
