Overview
Jonathan Goldstein is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' New York office and leads the Private Equity Practice in the Americas. He is a member of the Global Private Equity Practice with approximately two decades in the private equity space, initially as an investment professional and subsequently as an advisor, Jonathan has counselled alternative-asset firms on their recruitment, leadership, and talent needs.
Experience
Jonathan recruits investment professionals, operating partners and advisors, as well as business-development professionals. He also serves as an advisor to his clients, helping them navigate through portfolio company issues. Jonathan’s pro-active approach has resulted in the formation of new private equity funds as well as increased deal flow for his clients.
Jonathan works with both the general partner and limited partner communities. Within the general partner community, his clients include buyout funds, growth equity funds, special situation funds, distressed funds, credit opportunity funds, and specialty lending funds. His limited partner clients include sovereign wealth funds, fund of funds, insurance companies, corporations, and endowments.
Prior to executive search, Jonathan was a vice president at Sun Capital Partners, a middle-market buyout firm focusing on distressed investing. He began his career working in the private equity markets of the former Soviet Union, where he was a fund manager at AIG Brunswick Millennium and New Century Holdings. He is fluent in Russian.
