Overview
Jim Hayman is a partner emeritus in Heidrick & Struggles’ Melbourne office and founding member of the Mining & Metals Practice. He advises clients in the manufacturing, engineering, and consulting sectors, particularly as they relate to mining. His client work in the mining and metals sector has taken him to the world's key mining centers.
Experience
Jim is also an advisor to the Chief Executive Officer & Board of Directors Practice. He has conducted chairman and non-executive director searches across a broad range of companies in many industries in Australia and New Zealand. Many of these searches have been global in scope.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Jim was the managing partner of another international executive search firm’s Australian operations as well as regional director, Asia Pacific, for that group. He was responsible for planning, establishing, and managing eleven executive search offices for the firm across Asia.
Jim began his career with Philip Morris Australia in corporate planning and mergers and acquisitions. He was the economist with General Motors-Holden before becoming finance director and managing director elect of an international trading company's Australian operations.
He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
