Stephen McAlinden

Overview

Stephen McAlinden is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Hong Kong office and managing partner for Asia Pacific. He is a member of the Financial Services Practice focusing on Asian corporate and investment banking.

Experience

Stephen has held several leadership roles within the firm, most recently serving as the regional leader for APAC & the Middle East, where he led a team of over 300 hundred professionals in delivering executive search and leadership consulting services. Stephen was appointed partner-in-charge of the Hong Kong office in 2013. He joined Heidrick & Struggles in 2009 and has worked in the financial services industry as a trusted leadership advisor. 

With more than 25 years of experience in leadership search, Stephen has successfully placed top individuals at all levels of senior management within investment banks, securities firms, asset management companies, commercial banks, and other financial institutions. 

Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Stephen co-founded Eban International Limited in 1995, a leading financial services specialist executive search firm that advised equities, investment banking, derivatives, and fixed-income clients. 

Before Eban, Stephen spent six years in London and Hong Kong with Stephens Associates, a financial services executive search firm responsible for the US, Japanese, Asian, , and emerging markets equity, corporate, and investment banking markets.
