Overview
Elizabeth (Liz) Simpson is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and a member of the Financial Services and Financial Officers practices. She specializes in senior-level financial officer assignments, including CFO, controller, tax, chief accounting officer, director of financial planning and analysis, investor relations, and treasury, as well as COO assignments for publicly held and privately owned companies.
Experience
Liz works with clients in financial technology, information services, private equity and hedge funds, traditional asset and investment management, insurance, real estate, investment, and commercial banking firms on a local, regional, and global level. Additionally, Liz works across private equity on numerous investment professional engagements.
Most recently, Liz was the partner in charge of the Stamford and New York offices. Previously, she led the Financial Services Practice in New York, responsible for driving business development in the New York area, collaborating across the firm's complementary lines of business, and mentoring and developing talent internally.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Liz worked in investment banking at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney, where she worked in corporate finance within industry groups and in strategy and management positions.
She speaks fluent French and conversational Spanish and German.

Liz was a founder and president of the Somers Schools Alumni Association, a not-for-profit organization committed to funding and improving education within the Somers schools. She has also traveled to Costa Rica with Good For Kids, a not-for-profit corporation that brings support through self-sustaining resources, health needs, and educational and vocational programs directly to the children of La Carpio, a Nicaraguan refugee camp in Costa Rica. She is actively involved in a range of professional networking forums.
